The Ultimate Check List for Traveling

Traveling is a journey best planned ahead of time. There are a lot of things to get done with for a successful trip that could make or break your travels. Those need to be crossed off beforehand to come up with the ultimate check list for your incredible journey.

The Ultimate Checklist for traveling

Safety above All

For any kind of traveling, safety is the most important. If you’re traveling abroad, then take Travel insurance. It can be helpful during emergencies. Insurance cover anything from substituting a damaged camera to emergency medical care. Saving you hundreds or even, thousands of dollars. Sign up for State Department alerts they provide you with emails about any existing or forthcoming travel restrictions. You’ll know to plan for some unforeseen hindrances in advance.

Significant Travel Documents, Cash and Credit Cards

You definitely need to collect all your important travel documents such as:

  • passports,
  • personal ID,
  • cash and credit cards,
  • plane tickets,
  • travel insurance information,
  • reservations and
  • itineraries plus emergency contacts among the many other essentials.

Don’t forget to check if you have taken all these necessary items. Get yourself a copy of your passport, driver’s license, itinerary and medical cards. So that if you ever need them, you can gain access to them online.

Read about your Destination

Research about the places you will be traveling to in advance. To gain awareness into information you might not even know you have queries about. From appropriate attire and cultural customs to money conversion and valuable phrases, it’s safer to be ready so you don’t land yourself in a compromising position.

Organize Your Personal Item Carry-On Bag

The next thing you’ll want to do is organize your personal carry-on bag. Pack it with whatever you’ll want with you on the flight. It’s always a good idea to make sure you have a small number of clothes and a few toiletries in your carry-on just in case your main baggage goes missing. Some good things to take in will be a

  • mobile phone and charger,
  • headphones,
  • camera,
  • electrical converters and adapters.

To avoid getting bored, don’t forget to pack some books, games or even the guide books and for your comfort, eye mask or ear plugs will be just fine.

Prepare your Main Bag

Your main bag should be large enough to contain all your essentials. But also should be both lightweight and versatile so that it can fit a lot of your items.  Keep your clothes organized by using packing cubes. Don’t forget the basics like appropriate clothes, footwear, undies, accessories and toiletries to name but a few.

Pack Your Day Bag

Yes, you should have a day bag that you can carry around while traveling. A lightweight, multipurpose day bag can be used in many ways and can help you to stay comfy and ready. I packed an empty backpack in my main luggage for this.

Stay Connected

You can download whats app to send messages and calls through wifi connection for free.

Organize your home before leaving

Confirm that your day-to-day duties are covered in advance or assign a faithful and dependable relative or friend to do them for you. Remember to stop newspaper delivery. Also have the post office hold your mail.  Unplug all your appliances and empty the refrigerator. Pay your utility bills and have the water and electricity turned off if possible. Lock all doors and windows. Leave your keys with someone you can trust so in case of emergency they will have access to them.

Adventure awaits!
